Single channel colour sorter

This single colour sorter, manufactured by IST of Ferrara, Italy, is used to seperate contamination from good product and to prevent the discoloured product from reaching production. A vibratory feed delivers a constant stream of product to the chute, from where it falls through the illuminated inspection area passing two high definition colour cameras. High speed processors analyse every single particle which passes the cameras and contamination / bad product is removed using air blast nozzles. Typical throughput for coffee beans for example, would be 1,000 Kg / hour.

Automatic cleaning brushes ensure the cameras always have an unobstructed view whilst remote access via modem allows our service team to monitor the machine performance, programme the sorting algorithms and trouble shoot remotely, if required and permitted by the operator.
