Description
Meijer Stationary Pull Installation
Wooden pallets are not allowed in production environments where food, medicines, and other products must be manufactured under strict hygienic conditions. The value of these products is often relatively high, and the packaging must not be damaged, as this can lead to rejection and damage to the producer’s reputation.
By placing the products on slip sheets with a hygienic pallet as the base during production, they can be pulled with a Stationary Push/Pull as a complete package from one pallet to another upon leaving the production area. The stationary KOOI® Pull Installation has a horizontally moving clamp installation that secures the slip sheet and drags the goods from one pallet to the other. Since no parts of the pallet exchange device touch the packaging, the products can be transferred between pallets without any damage.
Frequently asked questions about KOOI® Stationary Pull Installers
A pallet changing machine is a piece of equipment designed to transfer goods from one pallet to another without manual lifting. This process is commonly required for hygiene reasons, when moving goods into a different storage area, or when shipping goods internationally where different pallet standards may apply. The KOOI® Pallet Changing Machines safely and efficiently switches the goods from a wooden, plastic, or metal pallet onto another pallet type while minimizing the risk of damage to the goods. Pallet changers are used in various industries, including pharmaceutical, food, and manufacturing, to improve efficiency, ensure safety, and maintain product hygiene during the handling and shipping processes.
Meijer Handling Solutions manufactures two different principles of pallet changing: units that allow the load to be switched between pallets horizontally, and machines that rotates the load, the co-called Pallet-Inverters. Each principle has its advantages and disadvantages.
The Stationary Pull Installation is mainly designed to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry and a stainless steel version is one of the options we can offer. Stainless steel is essential in pharmaceutical manufacturing for example due to its non-porous nature, preventing bacteria buildup and ensuring hygiene. Its corrosion resistance allows for regular cleaning with strong disinfectants, while its durability ensures long-term reliability under harsh conditions, making it cost-effective. Additionally, its chemical stability prevents medication contamination. The material’s smooth surface further facilitates easy cleaning and sanitation, upholding stringent industry standards.
The speed of changing pallets refers to the rate at which the unit operates during the actual pallet swap. The handling speed also depends on the type (model), such as horizontal pallet changing machines and pallet inverters. Additionally, the speed can vary depending on the goods being transferred from one pallet to another. Generally, a horizontal pallet changing machine is twice as fast as a pallet inverter, which means approximately 30 seconds to a minute for an inverter.
The type of slipsheet to be chosen with the pallet transfer machine depends on many factors including size of load, weight and where the load will eventually be shipped to due to moisture absorption with cardboard slipsheets may be the case. Reuse of slipsheets can also play a role in the implementation process.
Regular maintenance includes inspecting moving parts, checking hydraulic systems, lubricating components, and ensuring sensors and control systems are functioning correctly. Following the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule is crucial for optimal performance and longevity.
Yes, many pallet-changing machines are equipped with features to handle delicate or unstable loads carefully, using adjustable clamps, pressure settings, and smooth handling mechanisms to prevent damage.
